Dr. Gina Potter

Dr. Gina Acosta Potter is a highly respected educational leader with more than 30 years of experience serving students, families, and communities across California. Since beginning her career in 1992, she has worked in several culturally diverse school districts, Oakland, Santa Monica-Malibu, Imperial Beach, Chula Vista, etc. Her leadership is grounded in equity, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to student success.

Throughout her career, Dr. Potter has held a broad range of roles, including Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, Principal, Teacher, and Classified Academic Mentor. This comprehensive experience has provided her with deep expertise in curriculum and instruction, school finance, governance, leadership development, and systems of support. She is widely recognized as a leading voice in school finance and fiscal governance, with more than a decade of experience as a Chief Business Official.

As the first female Filipina Superintendent in California, Dr. Potter proudly embraces her biracial heritage and has dedicated her career to uplifting culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Her work has focused on advancing opportunity for students impacted by poverty, homelessness, and English language acquisition. Guided by integrity, purpose, and hope, Dr. Potter continues to champion educational excellence and equitable outcomes for all students she serves.
