Mark A. Skeldon

Mark. A. Skeldon is an independent attorney who practices of counsel to Borgstahl and Zychowicz. He focuses his practice on personal injury, family law, and juvenile/ education law. Mark has been Licensed in Ohio since 2011. Mark is a graduate of The University of Toledo College of Law where he earned Cum Laude honors following a Bachelor of Education. Prior to beginning his practice he served the community as an elementary teacher in Toledo Public Schools for ten years.

Born and raised in Toledo, Mark is proud of his Glass City roots and is an active member of the community. Currently, he serves as Board Chairman for a private elementary school geared towards children with special learning needs. Mark is also committed to local and national non-profit organizations including Komen of Northwest Ohio, ABLE of Northwest Ohio, Scramble for Autism, and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

Mark shares his legal expertise through his guest column in the Toledo Free Press, “Legally Speaking.” Mark’s column focuses on current events through the eyes of the legal system and practical legal information for the general public. Recent topics have included disability rights, working with contractors, trying juveniles as adults, and special education law.

Mark has a unique understanding of the nexus between education and the law due to his experience teaching and working with students with disabilities. In 2011, he drafted a document for a large Ohio School District that the district could use to identify potential legal issues regarding special education services.

Mark is committed to protecting client’s rights and offers experience in divorce, child custody, OVI (operating a vehicle under the influence), and injury due to another party’s negligence. He offers clients his full attention, appointments outside of traditional business hours, and respect and compassion for their personal legal matters.

Mark and his wife, Jen, of fourteen years, reside in West Toledo and are the parents two daughters, Meghan and Kate.
