Gordon Acker

Gordon J Acker, author of The Day The Republic Died, was born in Michigan and raised in Florida. After a stint in the Air Force as an Information Officer, he had a successful career in television broadcasting working at television stations throughout the country. He has produced television programs which won many awards including a Golden Globe and several Emmy Awards. He is currently retired living in Florida with his wife, Carole. He has three daughters and six grand children. Gordon wrote his first novel back in the 1970s. His editor had just finished editing “Jaws” and liked his novel “Pipeline”, but asked him to rewrite one chapter. Unfortunately, duty called and he never got back to it for over a year. By then Doubleday Publishing had moved on. His second novel, “Pawns” was published in 1992. Now retired, he has just published “The Day the Republic Died” with Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble. He is currently working on a sequel.
