Vikrant Goyal
Purdue University
I am graduate student in Purdue University and currently pursuing Masters of Science in School of Mechanical Engineering. My research interests is in field of experimental and computational combustion.
My master's research thesis is on, "Experimental (4D Hyper-Spectral Mid-Infrared analysis) and Computational (3D CFD analysis) investigation of Lean turbulent swirl-stabilized non-premixed flames established on Lean Direct Injection burner. Swirl-stabilization is done for better mixing of air-fuel for more combustion efficieny and reduced emissions. These kinds of flames are generally encountered in gas-turbine combustors.
During my masters, I took courses such as Combustion, Heat and Mass transfer, Gas Turbine Combustion and Turbulence modeling which further deepened my understanding of combustion phenomenon.
Given my background, knowledge and skills I acquired during course of my undergraduate and graduate studies, I firmly believe I can effectively contribute in field of combustion.
