Greg Salsbury

The president of Western Colorado University (WCU) since 2014, Dr. Greg Salsbury holds a master of arts in communication from the University of Illinois, a master of arts in communication management from University of Southern California (USC) Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, and a PhD in organizational communication from USC. Dr. Greg Salsbury’s career includes 16 years as a consultant and instructor with his own communications firm and 15 years as a senior administrator with divisions of the Jackson National Life Insurance Company. He has also instructed business communication students at a number of Southern California institutions of higher learning.

Dr. Salsbury’s achievements with WCU include boosting FTE (first-four-year enrollment) by 21 percent -- a rate of increase that bests any other Colorado college or university over the same period of time. He also secured funding for a new WCU school of engineering/computer science and developed a partnership with the University of Colorado Boulder to built a new cosponsored school.
