Guido Delgado
Guido Delgado holds numerous advisory positions, assisting companies in the Philippines and elsewhere. Mr. Delgado also oversees his own company, G.A.A. Delgado Inc. (GAAD), which he established in 1998 to provide energy advisory services to global clients. Through GAAD, Guido Delgado assists clients with asset purchases and dispositions, consulting, restructurings and reorganizations, and mergers and acquisitions. Since December 2002, Guido Delgado has also served as Chairman of the Board for Philippine Power Distributors Investments Corporation (PPDIC), a management and holding company that seeks to update and improve the efficiency of power distribution companies. Mr. Delgado is an advisor to various companies in the field of power and energy efficiency, particularly the areas of controlled climate, dehumidification, and air conditioning. He also advises companies dealing in power trading and marketing. Aside from these various responsibilities, Mr. Delgado presently serves as a guest lecturer/researcher at the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain, where he shares his expertise on a variety of topics, including renewable energy, business policy, business ethics, project finance, and others. As President of National Power Corporation, Guido Delgado improved the power situation in the Philippines and acted as a key figure in the implementation of power plant and transmission line projects, including the Masinloc Coal Plant, Pagbilao and Sual Coal Plants, and Leyte Geothermal Associated Lines. In addition, Mr. Delgado instituted power infrastructure programs, natural gas projects, and a Hydro Power BOT Program. His other achievements included introducing tariff reforms, establishing a Privatization and Restructuring Group and a Marketing Group, and enhancing technical programs related to ISO certification, zero outage, heat rate improvement, and hot line maintenance. Guido Delgado attended Zamboanga State College in the Philippines, where he graduated as Valedictorian. At Davao City National High School, he earned distinction as Salutatorian. In 1975, he enrolled in the University of the Philippines, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business. In 1983, he returned to school at the University of Manchester in England, where he earned his Master’s degree in Management Science.
