H. Alex Sanchez

Washington, D.C.

"Life is short and as far as I know, I only have one,” H. Alex Sanchez

Born on the small island of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands in 1983 and a current resident of Washington, D.C., H. Alex Sanchez continues to dream without limits and expand his horizons.

Sanchez (as he is most commonly known) graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2005, with a degree in Architectural Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University. After working in Corporate America for two years, and feeling stifled by the lack of creative expression, he decided to leave his office job and follow his passion and love for creative design, art and photography.

Rediscovering his love for home design, he began offering his design services for a small fee so that he could build his portfolio and experience, while gaining exposure in the D.C. area. In March 2009, with a few projects under his belt and $.37 left in his pocket, Sanchez officially launched Renaissance Design. He quickly established himself in D.C. as the "Renaissance Man": a title and style that attracted the attention of top design network, HGTV. Just shy of his company’s one year anniversary, he was selected to appear on HGTV's season 5 of their hit show "Design Star". The exposure and experience added to his design repertoire and once again, helped solidify him and his company as a top agency for the arts. His natural eye for composition, lighting and scale has turned him into a successful designer and his ambitious spirit has opened up limitless doors for growing his company. Sanchez is on a mission to change the face of architecture and design by using innovative means of creativity and bending the rules of expression. Sanchez is one of the most sought after residential designers for a new generation in the Washington, D.C. area.

Currently, Sanchez is contracted as the lead designer for Equilibrium Real Estate Fund where he designs everything from the floor plan to the finish material selections of townhouse renovations in Washington, DC. Sanchez’ road to breaking the stereotypes of the industry has gained him a lot of attention in the media. He has been featured in The Washington Post, Baltimore Sun, Home and Magazine, Uptown Magazine, DC’s Style & Luxury magazine, JET Magazine, and featured on Caribbean TV show “People’s Pulse”. He has also been interviewed on numerous blogs and radio stations internationally. With many media opportunities on the table, there is a lot more to be seen of him
