Carla Layne

I am a American-born artist with a background of art on many levels. It all began at the age of 8 while I spent my summer vacation with relatives in a rural countryside town. There, I observed my Aunt, a folk artist/painter, create beautiful and imaginative paintings and textile. She taught me how to appreciate and connect with nature by painting outdoors. With her enthusiasm, she encouraged me to "play" along with her and I have been captivated ever since.

With virtually no formal training, I have incorporated this love for art professionally as a talented and versatile Makeup Artist for American television, including Commercial Print, Special Effects, Sculpture, and Theatrical Makeup Artistry for Broadway. My motivation for being a Private Art Instructor in Hong Kong is to instill the same passion and appreciation for the Arts in our youth, for it has truly carved the path of my life. My goal is to fuel the desire and serve as a mentor for the up-and-coming artists of our next generation.
