Who Am I? What Am I? I Am An 22 Year Old Student At The Delgado Community College. I Am Female And I Am "African American & Indian". These Things Are Very Obvious, But I Am Not Necessarily What I Appear. My Interactions, Contrations With These Issues Have Shaped My Way Of Thinking, My Way Of Perceiving Others And Everything Around Me. I Strive To Not Be The Stereotype, As Long As It Is Within Reason. I Seem Very Shy And Quiet At First As Well, Until You Get To Know Me. I Have Been Told That On The First Look Most People Think That I Am A "Bitch," Stuck Up, Not Very Nice. I Do Not Generally Waste My Time On Trying To Change People's Opinions Of Me; If They Are Around Me More They Will Find That I Am Not That Bad. They Relize That What They Took For Rudeness Was Actually Just Me Being Shy And Trying Not To Offent Them Or Something. To Quote One Of My Friends "Once You Get Passed The Bitchiness You're Actually Alright." I Like Fashion And Music. I Do Not Think Of Myself As A Wardrobe Sylist Or Rapper, Though I Give You Swag And Know Good Music All The Times. I Have No Way To Explain How I View Myself. I Just, Am. I Do Not See A Point In Playing The Homemaker No Time Soon, I Have My Own Dreams And That Is Not One Of Them. Society Will Not Suffer Because I Did Not Play That Role. Of Course, I Am Also Black, But I Cannot Really Help That. I Was Born This Way. I Am From A Small City, One Of Those Live Life For The Moment Cities. Most Of The Time I Am Confused About What Being Black Really Is, And What It Really Means. Throughout History The Black Man Had Always Been The Dominator, The Elite, Which Seems Unfair To Other. In All Honesty I Would Rather Not Be Any Color At All. I Cannot Deny The Fact That I Do See Different Colors But I Try To Not Let It Affect My Thoughts. I Am Me. I Am Ishika Tamyakua Kirklian; My Culture Has Shaped Who I Am, For Good And For Bad. I Battle Some Stereotypes And Try To Be Different. I Try Not To Judge Others Before I Know Them. I Am Neither Perfect, Not Do I Try To Be. Although I Do Not Fight, I Still Learn And I Listen To What Is Going On Around Me.
