Hasmita Chavda

Hasmita Chavda is from Leicester and is the Programme Development Assistant at Ignite! a not-for-profit organisation, that promotes creativity in learning.
In addition to that, she currently sits on the Board of Trustees at The Mighty Creatives (TMC). TMC is the young people's creative development agency for the East Midlands.
Prior to this Hasmita has:
Travelled to Tanzania with ICS and spent 3 months in Dar Es Salam working with charity Tanzania House Of Talent, where she worked on evaluating and analysing their theatre in education, malaria awareness campaign.
Been the assistant editor for The Leicester Wave newspaper, a monthly paper entirely written, edited and created by young people;
Spent 4 years producing, running and presenting a radio show at Takeover Radio;
Trained as an Arts Facilitator by Director, Adel Al-Salloum and Trina Haldar at Curve Theatre and has knowledge of delivering and devising her own workshops;
In 2009 was selected to become a Prime Minister's Global Fellow. This was a programme run by the British Council where a 100 talented young people who were identified to become the leaders of tomorrow, were sent to one of fastest growing econimies in the world. During her time in India, Hasmita spent two weeks working with Tata Consultancy Services in Mumbai.
She loves her hot pink Dr Martens because they make her smile. She likes trying out new things, herbal tea and drawing with ink and dip pens.
