Currently Heather is in development with a Feature Film and is the Creator and Editor of "In Frame Magazine". It is sold on the Apple Newstand and features creatives in the industries of film, television, theatre, and all things entertainment. Her short film Modern love is airing on PBS currently.

Just like many of the animated characters she has helped to create, Heather Shepherd is setting out on a new adventure of her own. The highly skilled artist, modeler, and CG designer is taking her talents into the live-action arena and not just behind the camera, but also as an actor on-screen. Her passion for story telling and acting first sparked when she attended outdoor summer theater productions as a child growing up in Columbus, Ohio. The grand scale of the shows, the use of live animals and the magical aspect of it all swept her away and that’s when she knew this was something she wanted to be a part of. As a young adult, she made the decision to study Zoology at The Ohio State University, feeding into her fascination with the animal kingdom and the environments in which they live. After graduating, she bridged the gap between her interests, taking her knowledge of animals and her desire for story telling into the world of animation. Heather has built a stellar reputation in animation, working for some of the largest companies and on some of most celebrated animated films in the world. First at Walt Disney Feature Animation, she honed her skills and pushed herself creatively while hand drawing in the traditional 2d animation realm, working on some of the most popular animated titles, including “Mulan,” “Lilo and Stich,” and “Tarzan.” As the industry transitioned, so did Heather becoming skilled at 3D modeling and sculpting, working at some of the most renowned studios in Hollywood, including DreamWorks Studio, Bluesky Studios, Jim Henson Creature Shop, and Thinkwell. During this time, she contributed to numerous films and entertainment projects, including “Flushed Away,” “Over the Hedge,” Ice Age: The Melt Down.” She currently is contributing to “Ice Age:Continental Drift, and Leafmen”.

Always eager to expand her skills, Heather has made the creative jump into live-action projects, writing, and directing. Most recently, the short film, "Modern Love" that she wrote and directed earned the Awards of Merit and is now playing on PBS. She shot and Directed a short Doc. in South Africa that will be on the festival circut this year titled "
