Honest To Blog.
Belfast, Northern Ireland
I was born. I did some baby stuff. Continued with that for a while. Went to Primary school. Got bluetac stuck in my hair while trying to make some friends. Got a pretty nasty haircut out of it. Hair grew back. Regained some dignity. Lost said dignity whilst accidentally losing balance during an episode of swinging on a table when trying to impress a boy. Lots of blood. Lots of screaming. Two lost teeth. All while one traumatised young boy looks on. Moved on. Unaware of copyright laws, formed a 'Ghost Busters' group with some friends. Had badges and everything. (Not to be confused with well known 80's TV show series); instead, ours revolved around running around, gathering sticks for pretend fires while hunting for ghosts. Obviously. Went to Secondary school. Amid much procrastination and bad hair dyes, I managed to obtain some qualifications and stuff.
Having always felt the desire to write, I set up my blog during my time studying towards a BA Honours in Journalism. I was pretty content in my little Journalistic bubble for a while, writing the odd article for a few sites but I soon discovered that Journalism was not what I wanted to pursue career-wise and felt that if I continued with it I would become miserable and lose that love of writing I've had for as long as I can remember. So, I did the only thing I saw fit. Keep my head down and continue with my studies, after all it is a reputable degree?
Nope. I became a badass & dropped out.
The following year consisted of: , signing on the dole, more blogging, intense feelings of "What the actual hell am I going to do with my life?" while pretending I knew exactly what I was doing, repetition (lots of repetition) nagging about my future, sleeping until 12pm, cups of tea, more blogging, daytime TV, boredom, occasional feelings of regret & uncertainity, (followed by the realisation that I had made the best decision of my then nineteen year old life) more nagging about my future, applying for University, getting into University, gathering up my sister and boyfriend and moving to Belfast.
Now?
Still residing in Belfast doing a degree I love and which often requires me to think a lot deeper about myself, society and the world around me and that is awesome.
Apparently there is no cure for the writing (or blogging) bug and the only treatment is to continue with it, so here I am.
