Hossam El-Bibany
My educational background covers the fields of Civil Engineering, Construction, Computer Science, Organizational Development and Strategic Management with earned B.Sc., two M.Sc., and a Ph.D. from Stanford University. I taught at Cairo University, Stanford University and PennState University while conducting research in Collaborative & Concurrent Engineering as well as Interactive Multimedia Educational and Training Systems. I currently teach a "Systems Engineering" graduate course at Nile University.
In addition to my teaching career, I work as a consultant helping companies develop vision and business strategy including technology and product plans, business plans and organizational growth and renovation plans. I worked with several technology startups as well as established construction and real estate development companies in the US and Egypt.
I serve as a senior instructor with the Stanford Kenpo Karate Club when present in the US. I practiced Kenpo for the last 23 years as a form of self development, meditation and understanding the interplay between mind, heart, soul and spirit. I also grew up in a soccer-intensive environment; playing and coaching. Combined with my education, I often use soccer strategy as a framework for developing and communicating business strategy.
In 2008 I relocated to Egypt experiencing the socio-political dynamics that led to the January 2011 and June 2013 revolutions. My current goal is to focus on the economic environment by helping various institutions develop sound strategies and development plans as well as establishing technology ventures between Egypt and the US.
