Simone O. Higginbotham is a 53 year mother of one daughter, grandmother of Harper Florida-Marie, community activist, AmeriCorps Alumni, Domestic Violence Survivor, Entrepreneur, Speaker, Mentor, Network Connector, Social Cultivation Ambassador and an emPOWERED woman! Raised by a single mother in one of Baton Rouge's oldest African American neighborhoods, she never allowed her situation to dictate her purpose or destiny. Simone is a pillar in her community and has volunteered over 3500 hours with organizations across Baton Rouge.
Simone is a self-starter, very determined, hardworking, and diligent. A woman who wears a hat of many colors, Simone is the CEO of Rebirth Weekend of Legends and Rebirth Magazine. And currently serves as the Community Engagement Liaison for Redesign Schools Louisiana.
She could not stop and knew what she had to do to succeed in the business industry, so she began to write her vision and made it plain. She began developing her newest projects weekendgirl.com and SO Higginbotham Consulting where she is making many strides in developing great relationships with other companies, a rapport with her community and now has established colleagues that she has partnered with to not only put her company on the map but unselfishly help others also. Simone is definitely moving in the right direction as she presses toward the mark. She has her eye on the prize. She feels giving up is not an option.
Simone’s greatest accomplishment is the release of her first novel Caged by Words that shares her experiences with Domestic Violence during her marriage.
