ickledot is John Ashton. During 2014, ickledot became ever more serious about his photography, concentrating much more on people - people 'doing stuff'! While music continued to play an important role in this, sport began to move centre stage. With rugby union, in addition to taking pictures at a host of clubs in West Yorkshire, ickledot also became photographer for the county's representative sides at senior and Under 20s level. More recently he has also become official photographer for Yorkshire's Women teams.
ickledot has established a working relationship with the marketing department of a local Sue Ryder hospice. This has led to him photographing a number of sports related fundraising activities: cycling, long distance swimming, a half marathon, a sponsored walk and a couple of dinners.
ickledot has continued to provide design and digital image processing services for Bradford Industrial Museum.
Since April 2012 ickledot has been designer, photographer and occasional reviewer for Blues in Britain, a national music publication. Highlights so far has been the opportunity to photograph Sting, Hugh Laurie and many others including the American band Vintage Trouble.
