I'm a thirteen year radio veteran, getting my start as an intern at New York's progressive radio station, WBAI 99.5FM in 1999. I've produced and hosted radio, interviewing several entertainers including Kindred The Family Soul, Leela James, Syleena Johnson, Ruff Ryder's Drag-On, song-writer for Michael Jackson, Claude Kelly, former porn star Heather Hunter, Ice T, MC Sha-Rock, and many others. In June of 2004, I created and executive produced a yearly radio marathon called The Hip Hop TakeOver, or HHTO. The HHTO brought together radio host and DJ's, rappers/emcees, Hip Hop historians, authors, and politicians who had a common goal of teaching the origins of hip hop, and preserving its fundamental elements. In 2010, The HHTO was voted as one of the "Top Five Best Things in Hip Hop in New York" by Birth Place Magazine, a popular hip hop website.
In 2007, an opportunity presented itself for me to work at a station I grew up
listening to, 107.5 WBLS and its sister station 1190 WLIB. Both well respected,
popular New York radio stations. It was here while working as a board operator, producer, and Continuity Director I was given the chance to do on air work. I voiced liners and promos for the daily Quiet Storm show, Monday thru Friday, 7pm – midnight, and was also an announcer for the Circle Of Sisters event held at the world renowned Jacob Javits Convention Center in 2009.
Currently, I'm back where I started, WBAI, as a morning anchor/announcer and engineer since January 2010. I also hosts an overnight R&B/Hip Hop/Funk/Soul show, The Show, every other Wednesday at 3am.
