Wahaj Imam

Athens, Georgia, United States

My name is Wahaj Imam and I was born in Karachi, Pakistan. I moved to America when I was six years old. I lived in Texas for eight years where I grew up for the majority of my life, before moving to Georgia. I moved to Georgia in the summer of 2008 ad began high school at Brookwood High School, from which I graduated in 2012.

Through my middle school and high school years, I began to understand the difference between attending class to learn and attending class to want to learn. I can honestly say that I have found some teachers along my journey through K-12 grades that have thoroughly changed my mind as to what a teacher should be to a student and how committed they must be to a student's learning.

I found my AP classes to be the most enlightening in my high school years. AP classes helped me to explore independent and collaborative learning. Through the various methods used in these classes, I can genuinely say I found learning to be an exciting and wonderous experience.

I am now attending the University of Georgia where I am continuing my learning in the field of engineering and continuing to become a better student and teacher in the process.
