Irving Langer earned a graduate degree in psychology from Long Island University before embarking on a real estate career that has spanned nearly 50 years. In the early 1970s, he founded E & M Associates, a real estate management firm with an office on Flatbush Avenue. E & M is committed to tenant satisfaction and has a strategy of identifying high-potential properties with long-term value. Today, the company over which Irving Langer presides employs approximately 300 workers while managing a portfolio of about 10,000 properties across the country.

In addition to his leadership position with E & M Associates, Irving Langer holds investment interests in several other real estate companies and in the solar energy, technology, medical, and other sectors. He is also involved in philanthropic efforts with organizations such as Ohel Family Services, which recently opened a center for developmental disabilities in his and his wife's names at the Ohel Jaffa Family Campus.

Moreover, Irving Langer authored The Kosher Grapevine. In this book, he takes the reader into the world of kosher wines while offering guidance on wine tasting and tips on making sense of a restaurant wine menu. He also explores the role of wine in Jewish culture through the ages.
