J. Ching

Assistant Company Manager, Freelance Script Formation, and Facilitator in St. Louis, MO 63119

J. Ching (he/him) was born and raised in Kailua, Hawai’i. He is currently the Assistant Company Manager at The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis.

He was the Production Script Coordinator at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) from 2017-2021, helping to bridge the gap between literary development and stage management with a deep commitment to ED&I and Access Services. During his six seasons at OSF, he worked on several world premiere productions including Roe, UNISON, Manahatta, Between Two Knees, and The Copper Children.

Most recently, J. was a part of the facilitation team for the Intercultural Leadership Institute's (ILI) 2021 cohort. He was a member of the Brown Boi Project's March 2013 cohort, artEquity's National Facilitator Training 2017 cohort, and was a fellow for ILI's 2018-2019 cohort. He was also the Festival Coordinator for the 5th National Asian American Theater Conference and Festival (NAATCF).

He also does freelance script work providing support for formatting, copy editing, and the creation of scripts from scratch to meet the needs of the playwright. Please contact J. to learn more about this work and his rates.

J. aspires to start his own theatre company in Hawai’i geared toward educating youths from historically underrepresented communities about all aspects of the collaborative art of theatre and fostering a passion for the arts.
