I am a programmer and IT enthusiast who is currently studying at Abertay University. I will be graduating Summer 2014 with a BSc (Hons) in Computer Games Technology. Over the time I have invested in my University life, I have learned a lot about programming, have created a number of interesting applications, and furthered my passion for Technology as a whole.

This year (2014) I undertook a solo Honours Project as part of my Honours Year. I decided to look into using Virtual Reality to create an alternative method of communication. After consideration of possible applications, I created a hands and voice-free Virtual Keyboard, which users type with by rotating their head. Based on user testing and feedback, this application has serious potential, and I am lookinto into further development and research opportunities with this project.

My course has covered a variety of programming topics, including C++ introduction, DirectX and OpenGL, Parallelisation and Multithreading, Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality. C++ is the main language I have used throughout my work, although I am fairly skilled and knowledgeable in C#, JavaScript, and to a lesser degree, Flash and HTML.

Through my time at University, I have learned to program on a variety of platforms, notably Windows, Android, PS2 and PSVita.

One of the areas which interests me, and which I was learning about before coming to University, is Hardware and Software management and repair, client and server side. I started learning how to fix client computers since I broke - and repaired - my first and only laptop, by corrupting the grub boot manager in Linux. I strive to further my knowledge and experience in this field, alongside programming, and I seek to gain experience in server side management.

In my spare time, I have an interest in playing games. I enjoy many types of games, but as of recently Indie titles. I believe that because I have a greater understanding of the work that goes into making a game, I appreciate games more.

I also enjoy playing music. I am a Rockschool Grade 8 drummer, and a Trinity Grade 7 Classical and ABRSM Grade 5 Jazz Pianist. I play drums at my local church, and love to play Jazz in a group/band whenever I get a chance.
