Jack Quinn

An expatriate in Asia, I have been teaching abroad for 4 years. I speak 4 languages (in descending skill levels: English, French, Korean, Japanese) and have been lucky enough to travel and explore the continent (Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, the Philippines) as well as live in both Korea and Japan.

My classroom is a test lab for applied game mechanics with promising results (last year: +300% Student participation, +22,000 optional out of class language assignments).

I have written on Academic Research in the Psychology of happiness for YayLifeTribe.com, I have volunteered my time to tutor disadvantaged youth, and organized and overscene charity events with the Furey Foundation who's board I joined in Sept. 2011.

I am interested in applying, optimizing, and furthering my current research and exploring the relationships between Engagement, Happiness, and Education especially Language Acquisition and *Language Hacks (such as how to learn 5,000 French words in under 5 minutes).

Having spent 4 years living and working in enviroments where there is often a noticeable lack of a common language I have gotten very good at charades and learning how to package information and interaction to make it intuitive, whether for a kindergartener, a store clerk, or your users.

I am interested in working on curriculum and user experience design, advisory roles, and case studies where I can put my research and experiments to the test.

If your interested in making the world a better and more beautiful place I would love to hear from you.
