A Chicago-based entrepreneur, Jacob “Jake” Bickelhaupt guides the Stone Flower restaurant and maintains a Michelin rating with his unique dining space and kitchen. Offering a curated menu, Jacob Bickelhaupt provides seats for 12 within an intimate setting that erases the distance between chef and guest.
Mr. Bickelhaupt first emerged on the Chicago culinary scene through Sous Rising, an apartment kitchen concept that earned him Best New Chef recognition from Food & Wine magazine. His concept was described as innovative in the way it brought together new cooking techniques, fresh ingredients, and unusual pairings in gourmet dishes. His 15-course meals were also social occasions that brought together friends over good food and fine vintages.
Community focused, Jake Bickelhaupt is a proponent of the “Sober Chef” Movement and has been substance-free for nearly a year. Among his efforts has been establishing the One Flow Foundation, which provides support and counseling to chefs seeking to overcome substance misuse problems.
