As the CEO of Washakie Renewable Energy, Jacob Kingston operates a group of companies working in cooperation to produce sustainable and low-polluting biodiesel fuel. Having founded his company a small town of northern Utah, Jacob Kingston manages WRE Group as an organization that acts in the service of its communities, producing biodiesel not only for the sake of the environment, but to help create energy independence and support the U.S. agriculture that provides much of the fuel’s source material.

Dr. Kingston also works with other local organizations to teach responsible energy use to Utah residents. WRE Group sponsors the Utah Jazz Green Team, a green energy program from the Utah Jazz professional basketball team. WRE also offers the services of representatives to deliver informative presentations and speeches to educate students, government organizations, or other interested parties on the subject of biofuels.

Jacob Kingston’s alma mater, the University of Utah, benefits from his success as well. The Kingston Energy Scholarship and Washakie Renewable Energy Applied Science Scholarship offer awards in four categories for students in the chemical and mechanical engineering departments, granting over $25,000 annually. In addition, the WRE Group Applied Scholarship is granted to one graduating senior of Bear River High School who demonstrates an interest in renewable energy or intends to pursue an applied science career.
