Jaime Black

Jaime Black began his career in the music industry at the age of 15, working at Q101 radio, Chicago's late alternative rock station. He worked at Q101 for 13 years, until the station's format change in 2011, when he was one of three DJs to help close the station's nearly 20 year run.

During his time at Q101, Black spent a decade from 2001-2011 producing the station's longest-running on air program, the Chicago-music focused Local 101. In that time, he conducted multiple interviews with then-new talent like Fall Out Boy and Rise Against, before either group's major label deals. He also booked, produced, and co-hosted interviews with The Smashing Pumpkins.

In summer 2005, Black launched Dynasty Podcasts, Chicago's very first music-focused podcast series and network. Since then, Dynasty Podcasts has produced over 200 episodes, acquired over 33,000 followers worldwide, and been heard in over 140 countries.

In addition to his weekly Dynasty Podcasts interviews with Chicago's premier talent and tastemakers, Black covers the Chicago music scene daily at Chicagoverseunited.com. He also hosts a monthly music and media industry live podcast panel series at Chicago's famous Rockit Bar & Grill, and serves as the official SoundCloud Hero rep for Chicago.
