James Demirjian
James Demirjian specializes in the procurement of Roman, Asian, Medieval, and Greek antiquities for clients of his family’s business, Ariadne Galleries. With locations in New York, Munich, and Paris and an international client list that includes well-known collectors and museums, James Demirjian keeps busy with his professional pursuits. Along with his art dealer father and two brothers, he has garnered a reputation for his expertise. In addition to his work at the gallery, he personally collects ancient art, as well as contemporary photographs, paintings, and prints. James Demirjian devoted his undergraduate studies to photography and fine art, and he has parlayed that into his career. Since childhood, he has taken an interest in collecting art, which his art dealer father nurtured. Along with his family, James Demirjian runs the three galleries and contributes to the business. James Demirjian resides with his family in New Canaan, Connecticut. He holds ties with numerous organizations, including New York’s The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Weill Cornell Medical College, and The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; Paris’ Syndicat National Des Antiquaires; and Toronto’s Royal Ontario Museum. In addition, he belongs to The National Antique and Art Dealers Association of America, Inc.; the Art Dealers Association of America; and Cinoa, an advocate for art and antique dealers that seeks to stop the trafficking of stolen works, promote private and public collections, and protect national heritages.
