Holding a bachelor's from the University of Missouri-Columbia, James McEntire soon after earned a doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO) from the University of Health Sciences. After finishing an internship at Park Lane Medical Center, Dr. James McEntire completed his general pediatrics residency at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, after which he began working as a staff pediatrician at Trisource Healthcare. He later worked at Jacomo Pediatric Care, Centerpoint Medical Center, and Lee's Summit Medical Center before founding his own pediatric practice in 1998.

In addition to managing his own practice and seeing patients there, Dr. James McEntire maintains medical staff appointments at Two Rivers Psychiatric Hospital, Lee's Summit Hospital, and St. Mary's Hospital, among others. He's also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the Greater Kansas City Pediatric Society. A former Kansas City International Raceway Season Super-Pro champion, Dr. McEntire is also a racing enthusiast who manages the website www.seered68.com.
