After graduating from high school in his native Texas, James enlisted in the U.S. Army, and was on active duty from 1986-1990. While stationed in Germany, his love of sports led him to try out for a semi-pro basketball team. He was one of two American players chosen for the team for two seasons.

Upon returning to the States, it was important for James to stay fit and to help others do the same. He became a certified personal trainer and personal chef from 1990-1997, and was also an outside sales agent for a merchant services company...all while honing his “people skills.

In 1997 James became a firefighter and paramedic with the Houston Fire Department (HFD), a career that facilitated his interests in helping people, experiencing adventures, and keeping an active lifestyle. He received his Associates Degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences in 1998. "I truly have a passion for helping people. Your results are my results."

James knows how to work hard and to seize opportunities. From 2003-2009, while at the HFD, he owned and operated a successful ambulance service, learning the ins-and-outs of being a business owner and entrepreneur.

In 2010, while still at the HFD, he joined Shell Health, Safety & Environmental, and in 2012 he began working solely at Shell HSE.

Over the past 25 years, James has never stopped consulting others on fitness and nutrition, and he loves helping others “see” results. "I believe that customized nutrition just makes sense. As we age we continue to lose valuable nutrients and become hormonal unbalanced. We need a solid foundation. IDLIFE and BHRT gives us that foundation." He religiously goes to the gym, plays basketball, and enters fun competitions and challenges like ½ marathons. This passion for health and fitness led James to IDLife Nutrition.

James has two children, Zachary and Bryanna. He and his bride Jodi live in Katy, Texas.
