Jamil Ahmed

Jamil Ahmed obtained his Masters degree in English Language and Linguistics following completion of a BA in English Literature. He had a advanced training on ‘Civil Society Outreach’ from Institute of Development Studies (IDS), UK and had a diploma in Journalism from Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB). He received advanced training on Program Management and Communications from CARE International, Atlanta, USA. He was awarded Eisenhower Fellowship (USA), 2012 on Project and Program Management, Outreach & Leadership.

Jamil Ahmed has over 20 years of professional experience in Program Development and Management, especially in the areas of program design, develop and implementation, Design and manage Civil Society Policy Advocacy Campaigns on different focused issues. Specialized in relationship building with civil society, Policy advocacy campaign, BCC/IEC materials development and information dissemination, Electronic & print media mobilization activities, Efficient in training facilitation, moderating and anchoring.

Jamil Ahmed worked with renowned National and International agencies including The Daily Star (the leading English Newspaper), Prothom Alo (Leading Bangla Daily), Action Aid, Save the Children-USA, USAID funded Governance programs (LGI-ARD & DLGP-RTI), Transparency International BD (TIB) & CARE-USA. Gained significant knowledge about Democracy, Governance, Education, Human Rights, Anti Corruption, Civil Society as a result of experience in working with several national and international agencies. Jamil Ahmed obtained his PhD. on ‘Role of Media in Disseminating Local Governance Policy Reform Agenda in Bangladesh’.

Jamil Ahmed works as international trainer/facilitator/moderator on Democracy, Governance, Accountability, Human Rights, Media Communications, Investigative Journalism, Ethics and Standards. He serves as the ‘British Council Certified Language Trainer’. He has experience to work in Bangkok, Singapore, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Turkey, Denmark, Germany, UK, Canada and the United States of America – USA.

Besides, he is involved with several national and international electronic and print media agencies and associations in several different capacities.
