I am a Senior Correspondent for Vox.com.
After covering the 2016 election as a Senior National Correspondent for MTV News, my political and cultural commentary appeared in several outlets, including The New York Times, Esquire, and Washington Post. Most recently, I was both a weekly columnist for HuffPost and contributing opinion writer for the Los Angeles Times.
I also wrote the cover story for Time magazine’s February 19, 2018 issue about the film BLACK PANTHER and its cultural significance. Last fall, I profiled former NAACP president Ben Jealous for The New Republic—where I once served as a senior editor.
In 2015, I launched and hosted TNR’s first podcast, INTERSECTION. Later, I co-hosted the MTV News podcast THE STAKES. In the fall of 2017, I joined two other journalists to host ONE YEAR LATER, a special six-week series for KCRW and Public Radio International offering a fresh look at America in the year since President Trump’s election.
