California-based athlete and trainer Jason Borba serves as the head of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) at a world-class gym. In this capacity, he is responsible for scheduling all MMA coaches and designing the gym’s overall MMA programming. Further, Jason Borba of California trains clients using various MMA techniques.

To inform his current work, Mr. Borba relies on more than 15 years of experience in martial arts. For several years, he was a professional MMA fighter with training in wrestling, jiu jitsu, muay thai, and boxing. He was classified as a lightweight fighter during his involvement with the sport and won two out of his three professional fights. As an amateur fighter, he won both of the competitions he participated in.

Prior to this, Mr. Borba served with the armed forces. Initially joining the military in 2006 as an infantryman for the 3/187 infantry regiment of 101st airborne U.S. Army, he served as a combat infantryman in Iraq and army combatives instructor for both the Army and the California National Guard for several years. During this time, he earned multiple Army Achievement Medals,Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and several additional honors resulting from his service.

As a combat veteran and former MMA fighter, Mr. Borba also leverages his background to serve as a team member of Merging Vets & Players (MVP). Created in 2015, this program helps former professional athletes and combat veterans join together as they navigate the move to civilian life.
