Jay Corcoran is a documentary filmmaker.

His films, Life and Death on the A-List, Undetectable, New York Diary and Rock Bottom have been broadcast on PBS Independent Lens, NHK, CBC, Here! networks and Thirteen/WNET.

He has had screenings at the Museum of Modern Art, Lincoln Center, Guggenheim Museum, Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, the Kitchen, and at over 100 national and international film festivals.

His films have made the critic’s choice lists in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Weekly, Boston Globe, New York Magazine and many other publications.

Excerpts from his work have been featured on ABC’s Dateline, Oprah, MTV, Good Morning America and CNBC. He has also contributed to the online magazines, NYC24 and TechCrunch.

Corcoran is keenly interested in using digital media and engaging storytelling to educate people on situations around the globe that can lead to social change. He is passionate to create compelling digital video content to help companies, NGOs, educational institutions, non-profits and individuals tell their story in a focused and authentic way. He teaches social media workshops to MBAs at Columbia Business School on Managing Your Online Presence.

A couple of online highlights include a video series on a hotel/hospitality startup in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for Columbia Business School and a video series on literacy for the Afghanistan Center at Kabul University in Kabul, Afghanistan.

A former ski instructor, Corcoran welcomes the chance to leave New York City behind and hit the black diamonds in his native New England.
