The Corporate Communication Director for the United Arab Emirates’ Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, Jean-Philippe Coulaud has nearly 25 years of experience in public relations and marketing. He began working with General Motors Company (GM) in 1982 as a Press Officer. Over the course of more than 11 years with the organization, Coulaud held numerous communications and marketing positions, including Sales and Marketing Director for International Export Sales and North America for GM’s European division. Instrumental in promoting the company’s products and services to the press, Jean-Philippe Coulaud also took part in analyzing GM’s corporate strategy. He prepared a position paper detailing his insights into the then-current trends within the automotive industry, GM’s past performance within that industry, and its potential for future growth and development.

Following his departure from GM in the mid-1990s, Jean-Philippe Coulaud worked with three other car companies, again serving as Director of Communications and Marketing. For the BMW-Rover Group, Rolls Royce and Bentley Motor Cars Europe, and Ferrari-Maserati, he helped shape a global communications strategy and managed public relations groups for branding and marketing. In 2006, Coulaud joined Harry Winston S.A. There, he served as the Marketing and Communication Director and was tasked with promoting the company’s luxury timepieces.

In 2008, Jean-Philippe Coulaud became the Corporate Communication Director for the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 project. In this role, he has been given the challenge of developing a new brand for the emirate’s ambitious plans for transformation and development. Coulaud manages public affairs and marketing for the project across the spectrum of the Internet and other public forums. A short, sharp video gives a thematic overview of the project’s goals and offers viewers visual renderings of the kinds of dramatic changes that the Urban Planning Council has in store for the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
