Jeff Gagie
Possessing nearly two decades of experience as an attorney, Jeff Gagie has decided to pursue new opportunities in resource development in the nonprofit sector. Gagie prepared for his new career path by completing the Advanced Leadership Program at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and by earning a Certificate in Fund Raising Management from the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. For the past 15 years, Gagie has owned and operated a legal practice in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he has concentrated on criminal defense. During this time, he has maintained close involvement with local professional organizations, serving on the Board of Directors for the Kalamazoo County Bar Association and functioning as the President of the Van Buren County Bar Association. He has also taken an active role in numerous charitable organizations, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kalamazoo, which he served as President of the Board of Directors. A seasoned fundraiser, Jeff Gagie has procured more than $1 million for altruistic causes. Gagie also performs advocacy work for disadvantaged clients and has spearheaded major reforms in Michigan’s legal system. While operating his practice, he ran two campaigns for District Court Judge. Prior to establishing his own practice, he spent three years as an associate attorney at two firms in Kalamazoo. An alumnus of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, he graduated with a Juris Doctor. Gagie also holds an MBA and Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Michigan University. In his limited free time, Gagie escapes to the outdoors to golf, kite board, sail, and ski. He also enjoys visiting national parks.
