Technologist Jeff Murr graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. While there, he was involved in an independent research project examining sound signals with neural networks and was included on the dean’s and chancellor’s lists several times. Jeff Murr of Raleigh, NC, also worked as a web programmer for the university and as an engineer for Consolidated Computer Services.

Shortly after graduating, Jeff Murr accepted the role of systems analyst at State Employees’ Credit Union. During his three-year tenure with the company, he engineered and administered IT infrastructure and implemented several large-scale corporate projects. He went on to hold roles such as senior engineer at Fiserv, expert engineer at Allscripts, and manager of application platform engineering at MetLife. Mr. Murr has worked in varying positions at MetLife for nearly five years and currently holds the title of director of platform engineering.

Outside of work, Mr. Murr enjoys spending time with his children, running, and traveling. A dedicated philanthropist, he has been a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of North Carolina for more than four years and regularly builds homes for local families in need. He also takes donations and manages stock at the local Habitat for Humanity store. Beyond that, he leads a team of fundraisers for the Junior Achievement of Eastern North Carolina’s annual fundraising events.
