Jeff Tanski

A fire investigator with more than 20 years of experience, Jeff Tanski has spent the past ten years as a fire analyst expert and president of Veritas Fire Consulting, which analyzes the causes and origins of fires and explosions. In addition to conducting scene analysis, fire reconstruction, photographic records, and evidence collection, Jeff Tanski has testified in courts of law and arbitration hearings related to multi-million dollar fires and fires involving loss of life.

Prior to founding Veritas Fire Consulting, Mr. Tanski spent several years as a fire investigator with St. Paul Travelers Insurance Company, as well as four years with David H. Smith & Associates, Inc, a national forensic engineering firm. Mr. Tanski holds a bachelor of science in technical education from Akron University and an associate degree in fire protection technology, also from Akron University. He is a member of both the national Fire Protection Association and the Ohio chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, traveling, and going to the movies.
