Jennifer Braxton
Jennifer Braxton has over a dozen years of expertise in providing C-level counsel to companies and small businesses that recognize the impact public relations, marketing and strategic partnerships have on their overall brand. She honed her skills as the Philadelphia spokesperson and Marketing Manager for IKEA, the global leading provider of home furnishings and one of the top three most recognized brands in the world.
Jennifer is an innovator in the use of socio-cultural and corporate anthropology methods to craft media and sustainability platforms to integrate businesses in the communities where they live and work. Her research, design and implementation of a pilot program with the National Association to End Homelessness was published in a manual of worldwide best practices in corporate social responsibility.
One of the most called-upon event planners in the City of Philadelphia, Jennifer has been a leader on the planning teams for large-scale events like Philadelphia Cares Day, which organizes 15,000 volunteers in a single day of service in public schools, festivals at Penns Landing and on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, including College Day on the Parkway and the 6abc Thanksgiving Day Parade.
As the first New Media Relations Specialist for the School District of Philadelphia, she wrote the website's content standards. The strategic partnerships she developed for the District with ClearChannel Communications, Comcast Spectacor and PECO Energy laid the groundwork for the Office of Community Relations.
Deeply committed to the arts, in her spare time Jennifer works in production for films, theater and television shows and serves as the Chair of the Arts & Letters Committee of the Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., whose mission is to promote all forms of artistic expression of the African American experience. She also a blogs for the American Red Cross and the International Flower Show.
Quoted in Time Magazine on the importance of workplace diversity, Jennifer Braxton is a Founding member of the National Urban League Young Professionals and a past president of the Black Communications Society of Syracuse University, where she received dual B.A. degrees from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Maxwell School of Citizenship.
