My name is Jessica Barr and I am proud to be a 2nd grade teacher in Henderson, NV!

Originally from Denver, Colorado, I moved to Las Vegas to pursue my degree. I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Elementary Education and am currently working to obtain my M.Ed in Advanced Teaching and Leadership with an administrative endorsement.

I am new to the world of blogging but excited to have a platform to share my thoughts and tips on teaching. My blog revolves around my teaching philosophy that there are 3 components that result in "Teaching Above the Barr": lots of love and laughter, high expectations of yourself and your students, and, of course, lots of coffee.
