Jessica Alpern

Jessica Alpern is an Emmy Winning Broadcast Journalist with a passion for Entertainment and Lifestyle Television News. She has been nationally and internationally honored in her field. Most notably, she has been awarded two National Academy of Television, Arts, & Sciences Emmy Awards, one for Excellence in Writing and one for Arts, Entertainment & Cultural Affairs and 1st Place in Documentary at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival.

After spending a summer interning for the South Florida CW affiliate, she began working as an Entertainment and Lifestyle Correspondent for the station, as well as Hosting the morning show and red carpet events. Every Monday morning you can catch her lifestyle segment, "Jessica's Picks," where Jessica gives you her pick of the week for a useful DIY project, recipe, craft or something of the sort. She also blogs reguarly about other inspiring projects on the station website.

On opposite sides of the world (Okay, Gainesville is just a five hour drive from South Florida) you can also see Jessica LIVE on the WUFT-TV First At Five for which she serves as the Entertainment Anchor.

Jessica will graduate this Decemeber from the University of Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunication, Minor in Business Administration and Outside Concentration in Financial and Managerial Accounting. Upon graduation, she hopes to find herself in the entertainment news industry.

In addition to her on camera roles on campus at the University of Florida, Jessica is known among her peers as a University of Florida Cheerleading Squad Alumni and former Athletic Association Liason Chair for the program.
