My writing is like a scratch ticket. My writing can either be a winner or a loser. Sometimes my writing is really great and sometimes I can't follow through. When I write I need to thoroughly read the instructions of the task to know how to do it.

• A new piece, not previously submitted for a grade in a format of your choosing,
• An expository piece (theme based essay or literary analysis blog post),
• A personal essay or creative piece (This I Believe essay or perhaps one you submitted for your last Writer's Notebook piece),
• A research essay (either your Cultures research project or SSR essay), and
• A reflection piece in the format of your choosing on what you have learned about writing and what you still have yet to learn (at least 1 full page, double spaced).
