Carmen Jimenez is a License Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate, Substance Abuse Professional, License Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina and a License Independent Social Worker in South Carolina. Carmen earned a bachelor in social work with a certificate in ChildProtective Services from Benedict College in 2004. Carmen was acceptedinto the advance standing program at the University of South Carolina earning amasters of social work in 2005 with a focus on communities and organizations.

Carmen has over 10 years of experience in themental health field. Carmen has spent 8 years focused on protecting childrenand assisting families in crisis as a senior social worker with Youth andFamily Services in Charlotte North Carolina. Carmen has shared her expertiseand dedication with Youth and Family Services managing Family Interventioncases, conducting family assessments, conducting forensic investigations.Carmen transitioned to Youth and Family services specialty sex abuse andconflict of interest unit prior to leaving the agency in 2014.

Since 2010 Carmen has utilized her skillswithin the clinical field by providing outpatient therapy and intensive in homeservices to children, adolescents and adults in Mecklenburg County. In 2011 Carmen created Outspoken Counseling and Consulting to provide therapy, lifecoaching and business consulting in Fort Mill, South Carolina. In 2014 Carmen transitioned the practice to Columbia South Carolina. In 2015 Carmen created Together We’ll Grow a non-profit organization focused on strengthen individuals and families by providing mentoring and therapeutic services.

Carmen has experience and training in the areasof anxiety, depression, school difficulty, divorce, separation, grief, trauma,domestic violence, child abuse, ADHD, parenting, identity development,interpersonal relationships, and self-esteem building. Carmen utilizesPlay therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy,reality based practices and crisis interventions within her dailypractice.
