Jo Asker
Business English Teacher in London, United Kingdom
I left Thames Valley University (now West London University) with a BA Honours business degree, and worked in the entertainment industry both here in England and in America before teaching English in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
I completed my TEFL in Manhattan, New York and my IBET in London but in between I was a buyer for a retail store and then owned a business in downtown Manhattan and was heavily involved with buying, negotiation, sales, merchandising, financials, employing and many other areas of business - it was a small business, therefore I was very hands-on. I took this store from infancy through to break-even two years later.
Immediately prior to this I had worked on a freelance basis for Stevens Institute of Technology recruiting senior executives (CEOs, COOs and CTOs) for a global panel on technology and was very successful.
I have recently edited four books that span from novels to technical/educational material and am also a writer, having formerly written a health and fitness column for an ethnic magazine and messages for greetings cards.
Currently I am teaching International Business English one-on-one using Skype and also work for different training companies in the customer service industry helping to maintain service levels in industries such as automotive, high street retail, gyms and banking.
If you have a specific area of business you would like to further as far as English language is concerned, perhaps the language of meetings, business communication, negotiations, take overs or any other area, I can help: I am a native speaker and am friendly, educated and ready to help you achieve more from your spoken English!
If you are interested in taking a trial lesson, please get in touch, we can meet on Skype or in person and evaluate your requirements.
Thank you.
