Joann Baney, an educator and executive leader with almost two decades of experience, currently serves as co-owner and vice president of Professional Development Company, Inc. Her professional teaching positions include serving as an associate professor in the executive master of public administration program at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs since 2006 and as an executive education faculty member at Columbia Business School for the past 18 years. Joann Baney has additionally functioned as an honorary battalion chief with the New York City Fire Department since 2014. In the past she has taught at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and speech department.

Beyond her various professional responsibilities, Joann Baney enjoys attending live theater performances and Broadway plays. She has performed in multiple off-Broadway productions with the St. Bart’s theater group, including 110 in the Shade, Damn Yankees, and Kiss Me, Kate. A sports enthusiast, she follows six-time Super Bowl champions the Pittsburgh Steelers.
