John Gonzo

With over 25 years of experience in professional liability and employment law litigation, attorney John Gonzo serves as managing partner of the New Jersey office of L’Abbate, Balkan, Colavita & Contini, LLP. He has earned nomination to New Jersey Super Lawyers every year between 2011 and 2015 and maintains an AV Preeminent rating in the Martindale-Hubbell lawyer directory. Over the course of his career, Mr. Gonzo has argued cases before regulatory boards and federal and states courts on behalf of a broad range of clients, including accountants, doctors, insurance companies, engineers, various government entities, and others. John Gonzo also represents individual and institutional clients in complex commercial litigation, such as those involving trademark and copyright disputes, insurance claims, and cyber liability.

Active in several professional organizations, Mr. Gonzo maintains membership in the American Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society. He holds admission to practice law in the State of New Jersey, the U.S. District Courts for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Outside of his legal practice, John Gonzo serves as vice president of the board of directors for the Northern New Jersey Council of the Boy Scouts of America and, for the past decade, he has served as a scoutmaster for Troop 34. He has received recognition for his work with the Boy Scouts through proclamation and a resolution of the New Jersey State Legislature.
