John Perone
Honorable John Perone began his legal career in 1970 as an Assistant District Attorney in Westchester County, specializing in homicides and other major felonies. He spent the next 32 years serving in a variety of positions within the state government, including four terms as an elected New York State Assemblyman and part-time Legislative and Constituent Service Council for State Senator John Flynn and State Senator Nicholas Spano. In 1996, John Perone was appointed by Governor George Pataki for a 10-year term with the State of New York as Acting Justice of the Supreme Court. After retiring in 2002, John Perone returned to private practice. Currently, he is a partner at McMillan, Constabile, Maker & Perone, LLP. His practice includes cases dealing with commercial law, criminal law, and civil litigation. In addition, John Perone serves as an appointed arbitrator and hearing officer, a member of the Character Fitness Committee for the Ninth and Tenth Judicial Districts, and an officer in the New York Guard's Civil and Military Affair Unit Yonkers Armory. John Perone is a member of the Larchmont/Mamaroneck/Harrison Bar Association, the Westchester Bar Association, and the Columbian Lawyers Association of Westchester County and New York City. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Merrimack College and a Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law. An active member of his community, John Perone supports the Knights of Columbus, the Elks, the Lions Club, the Knights Templar, and the Boy Scouts of America. In his free time, Perone enjoys traveling, skiing, biking, fishing, and swimming.
