John Powers Middleton is an American film and television producer.

Middleton was born on January 1, 1984 in Philadelphia, PA and is the son of John S. Middleton, the principal owner and general partner of the Philadelphia Phillies. He attended the Haverford School in Philadelphia, and was dually enrolled at Duke University and the University of Pennsylvania from 2002-2006.

John Powers Middleton began his career in 2008 as an intern, assistant, and script supervisor for several production companies. In 2010, he partnered with Roy Lee under Vertigo Entertainment. In 2013, Lee and Middleton joined Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane in a joint venture with Good Universe. Middleton partnered with Casey Affleck in 2014 to develop and launch The Affleck/Middleton Project, a new production company, while also producing with Vertigo Entertainment and Good Universe. During his career, Middleton has worked with notable entertainment companies including Warner Brothers Entertainment, Paramount Pictures, Univision Radio and Lionsgate, among others.

Middleton is best known for his work on critically acclaimed films including The Lego Movie, The Lego Batman Movie, The Disaster Artist and Manchester By The Sea, which won two Oscars for Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay. Middleton is also known for his work as Executive Producer on A&E’s critically-acclaimed Bates Motel. He the founder of Middleton Media Group, a TV and film production and finance company.

In addition to his work in the entertainment industry, Middleton has worked as the national co-chair of the Republican National Committee’s Young Eagles program, and hosted fundraising events in support of the Republican Party.

He is currently based in Los Angeles, CA and Philadelphia, PA.
