John Stonko

A prominent piano instructor and business owner with a wealth of experience in the Atlanta area, John Stonko currently works as the principal owner and head teacher with Atlanta Piano Teachers. In this role, he oversees all aspects of the studio’s operations, including scheduling, hiring and management, as well as instruction. John Stonko also teaches group and private lessons to adults of all experience levels, from beginner all the way through professional performance. In recognition of Mr. Stonko's accomplishments, the Georgia Music Affiliates Society awarded him its 2012 Teacher of the Year.

Before taking up his current responsibilities, John Stonko worked as the “OPTIONS” piano teacher at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he taught elements such as piano performance, music theory, sight-reading, and more. He has spent the majority of his career as an instructor with the Emory University Center for Life-Long Learning and a teacher with Masters of Music.
