John Vernon

Hello, my name is John Vernon. I grew up in Winnetka, Illinois north of Chicago. A few things that interest me the most are learning to love what I am doing, being immersed in new and different cultures, and building new relationships.

My family, faith and school have been the largest influences in how my world-view has been shaped. All members of my family are fervent travelers and love cultures different from the ones we knew in childhood. From my faith I have been taught to love people, build relationships and intentionally step out of comfort zones into new and unfamiliar situations. Being at Azusa Pacific University has taught me how to love everything that I am doing and to have a new hunger for learning and understanding who I am and my relation to the world around me.

My free time activities include reading, poetry writing, being in community with friends, being in nature, rock climbing and other outdoor activities.
