Jon has served in the US government in both Federal and State levels. Jon worked in the US Department of Treasury’s Office of General Counsel, and as legislative assistant for the then Representative Ted Strickland who later became Ohio Governor. Policy areas of expertise include banking and finance, international relations, global energy, taxes and trade, budget and economic development, information technology, terrorism and financial intelligence, and national security. Jon served on a four-person team overseeing Treasury’s response to the 9/11 Commission.

Jon also worked in higher education as Director of Strategic Initiatives for Johns Hopkins Institutions (JHI = JH University & JH Medicine). Underscoring his work there was overseeing the Economic Impact Assessment – JHI is Maryland’s largest private employer at 50,000 people and annually contributing $10 billion to the state’s economy.
Jon founded Lake Climate Group LLC – a global climate finance and policy organisation based in Minneapolis, progressing a cosmopolitan and UN+/patchwork approach to global carbon finance and local US policy via climate entrepreneurship.

Supporting Jon’s professional pursuits is an academic foundation in International Studies from the City College of New York, and the Global Politics Master’s Programme at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). His focus is on cultivating innovation and competitiveness by partnering multi-level governance ambitions with cross-sector economic development opportunities.
