Jon McLaren

Jonathan Ian McLaren (born October 26, 1984, in Ottawa, Ontario) is a Canadian actor. Born and raised in Richmond, a small town on the outskirts of Ottawa, he spent most of his time growing up playing sports. He currently resides in Ottawa and spends most his time between home, Montreal, and Toronto. Jon attended Richmond Public School and South Carleton High School, where he would later move on to graduate from the University of Ottawa and receive a Baccalaureate with honors in Commerce degree. Jon also routinely enjoys playing golf, actively plays hockey, and has recently taken an interest in snowboarding.

Jon fell into his love of acting and entertainment during high school at the age of 14. However, he in fact got his start in modeling, when friends, as a practical joke, sent photographs of his to local talent agents. To their surprise, Jon received a few callbacks and eventually signed with a dual agency, offering both modeling and acting guidance. It didn't take Jon long to discover his passion for acting, at which point he ceased modeling efforts in pursuit of an acting career – he hasn't looked back since!

Thus far in his career, Jon's been blessed to have worked on numerous films, with young and veteran stars and filmmakers alike. Some of these names include: Adam Beach (Flags of Our Fathers, Law & Order: SVU), Adrian Langley (Donkey), Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), Golden Globe Nominee Lou Diamond Phillips (Courage Under Fire, Young Guns), Chris Potter (Heartland), Gemini Winner Jessica Steen (NCIS, Heartland, Flashpoint), William R. Moses (Falcon Crest), Haylie Duff (7th Heaven), and Academy Award Nominees Elisabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas, The Saint) and Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone).

Jon continues to work steadily in the industry and most recently completed work on "Another Man's Wife" starring Rena Sofer (NCIS, General Hospital), as well as "Eddie" with Dylan Smith (300) and Thure Lindhardt (Angels & Demons, Flame & Citron).
