Jonathan Charrier

Founder of Charrier Global Imports in Montreal, QC, Canada

I’m Jonathan Charrier, a Montreal-based entrepreneur and the founder of Charrier Global Imports. I grew up in Montreal’s Rosemont neighborhood, surrounded by a mix of cultures, languages, and food traditions that shaped how I see the world. With both of my parents working in hospitality, I learned early on the value of service, quality, and building genuine relationships.

After studying international business, I spent several years traveling through Europe, Africa, and South America. During that time, I worked alongside artisans, visited vineyards and cooperatives, and built lasting connections with producers in places like France, Italy, Peru, Brazil, and Morocco. I saw how many incredibly skilled makers struggled to reach wider markets despite the quality of their work, and that experience inspired me to create my own company.

In 2012, I founded Charrier Global Imports in Montreal with the goal of connecting people to meaningful, well-made products. I focus on sourcing specialty foods, artisanal goods, handcrafted textiles, and wellness products while prioritizing fair compensation, ethical practices, and long-term partnerships. Today, I remain hands-on in every part of the business, from sourcing to quality control. For me, every product carries a story, and I take pride in helping share those stories across cultures.
